Metroid Fans Of The World Unite!

As you should know by now, I am a huge Metroid fan. I was wondering if any of our readers/listeners are fans of the universe's hottest bounty hunter. So speak up, folks. Why do you like Metroid and which game is your favorite?

For me, I enjoy the Metroid games because I love the exploration aspect. I also love how it is combined with the upgrades which allow you to access new areas that were unreachable before. My fav game is the original Metroid. All the others are great too but the first game has such a huge nostalgia factor at this point, I don't think anything will ever top it.

I like Shadow Complex. Does that count as a Metroid game?

Almost. How can you like Shadow Complex but not Metroid? Shadow Complex basically is Super Metroid!

I'll admit. I've never played Super Metroid. My knowledge of the side scrolling series is based solely on Metroid for the NES and I don't like the jump that Samus has. It feels too floaty and unwieldy to me. I really like the movement in Shadow Complex and the 360 degree aiming that you have. I may have to go and give Super Metroid a try, but so far unless it has Prime at the end of the title, I've not been a big fan of the Metroid franchise. sorry...[=^)

I'm a fan of Metroids!! I like it when they scare Shelby in his nightmares.

I never really got into the Metroid games. I went from the Atari 2600 to the C64 and it was PCs straight through until relatively recently, so no NES or SNES. I finally bought a GameCube a little while after they dropped to $99.

I did just try the Shadow Complex demo tonight and liked it quite a bit. Too bad I missed the sale on the game back in December.

Shadow Complex is a great game. I just finished playing through it not long ago, as I just got a 360. Shelby tells me that it's very similar to Super Metroid, so I may have to download that game on the VC and give it a try.

I'm currently playing through SHadow complex to level up to 50 and up the difficulty a bit.

I told Tony time and time again that if you like SHadow Complex, you will love Super Metroid. And I was right. So anybody that likes Shadow Complex, you really need to check out some Metroid games.
