Stupid Laws

I don’t know how this would ever come up in a conversation, but I found out some stupid laws that are actually on the books here in Oklahoma. I don’t know the actual text of the laws which these statements refer to and I’m sure at one time they actually had some real world “logical” explanation, but now they just seem silly. Here are some crazy laws that I found that are currently enforceable in Oklahoma, though I highly doubt anyone would actually enforce them.

Oklahoma will not tolerate anyone taking a bite out of another’s hamburger.

It is against the law to read a comic book while operating a motor vehicle.

Whaling is illegal.

Cars must be tethered outside of public buildings.

It is illegal to wear your boots to bed.

Fish may not be contained in fishbowls while on a public bus.

A man with a moustache may never kiss a woman in public. - You heard that right Tony! Be careful cause I know how you are with them ladies

In Dubuque any hotel in the city limits must have a water bucket and a hitching post in front of the building.

In Fort Madison the fire department is required to practice fire fighting for fifteen minutes before attending a fire. - I feel sorry for anyone who has a fire. I actually don't think it would take 15 minutes for a building to burn down.

In Indianola the ”Ice Cream Man” and his truck are banned. - Poor kids.

In Marshalltown horses are forbidden to eat fire hydrants.

It is a violation of the law to sell or distribute drugs or narcotics without having first obtained the appropriate Iowa drug tax stamp.

Kisses may last for as much as, but no more than, five minutes. - This goes back to that first one. If Tony shaved that moustache off, he'd be allowed almost 5 minutes of kissing time.

One-armed piano players must perform for free. - What a sad state I live in. Talk about discrimination.

Within the city limits of Ottumwa a man may not wink at any woman he does not know.

Don't hate the player, Iwoa, hate the game. The one armed piano player is really sad.

As for the Oklahoma laws, I have bitten hamburgers of others (I claim the 5th!), I have been riding in the car as Will has read a comic while driving *and me yelling at him I might add). He used to do that with new packs of Yi-Gi-Oh! cards.

Whaling?!? O_o How did that EVER come up?
